Appliance Removal in Smyrna

An old fridge humming in the garage or a dead dryer in the laundry room is heavy work to move. Our crew lifts it out, straps it onto the truck and drops it at a recycler instead of the landfill. You show us what's going, and we sweep the spot clean on the way out.

Heavy, awkward and done for

Appliances are the hardest things in your home to get rid of on your own. A full-size refrigerator can weigh well over 250 pounds, a chest freezer won't bend around a stair landing, and most curbside pickups won't take anything with refrigerant in it. That's the gap we fill. Our crew brings dollies, straps and enough hands to move it without scraping your floors or door frames.

There's also a running-cost side worth mentioning. That second fridge or old freezer in the garage often draws far more power than a newer model, and in a Georgia summer it works hard just to stay cold. If it's mostly holding a few drinks, hauling it away can trim your electric bill every month after.

What appliance removal covers

  1. 01

    Kitchen appliances

Fridges, upright and chest freezers, ranges and wall ovens, plus dishwashers, microwaves and trash compactors. Built-in units need a quick conversation about disconnection before pickup day.

  2. 02

    Laundry pairs

Washers and dryers, stacked or side by side. Shut the water off and we'll unhook the hoses, then cap or tie them so nothing drips.

  3. 03

    Water heaters and HVAC pieces

Old tank water heaters, window air conditioners, dehumidifiers and portable units. Tanks should be drained before we arrive, or we can tell you how by phone.

  4. 04

    Careful carry-out

We pad corners, use appliance dollies on stairs and lay floor protection along the path out. Your walls and hardwood matter as much as the speed of the job.

  5. 05

    Recycling, not the landfill

Metal goes to scrap recyclers. Fridges, freezers and AC units go to facilities that recover the refrigerant properly before the unit is broken down.

Signs it's time to let an appliance go

  • A garage fridge that never stops running

If the compressor hums nonstop or the coils feel hot, it's using a lot of electricity to do very little. Older units are often the biggest power draw nobody notices.

  • You just bought a new one

Not every store hauls the old model away, and some charge extra or only take the one being replaced. We'll take the old unit plus anything else that's waiting.

  • Repair costs more than it's worth

When a repair estimate comes close to the price of a new machine, letting the old one go is usually the smarter money.

  • Leaks, rust or a smell

A washer that leaks under the floor or a freezer that won't hold temperature can damage the room around it. Getting it out quickly limits the cleanup.

  • It's eating up space

A broken dryer in the basement or a stove left from a kitchen remodel takes up room you could use. Removing it often pairs well with a garage cleanout or basement cleanout.

How pickup day goes

  1. 1

    Talk it through by phone

Tell us what the appliance is, where it sits and what's between it and the driveway. Most jobs can be priced during that same call. If you want eyes on it first, we can stop by and give you a free estimate in person.

  2. 2

A little prep on your end

Clear out the fridge, pull the plug where you can reach it and close the water valve. A gas range or gas dryer needs its line closed off and sealed ahead of time, and that's a job for a plumber or the gas utility.

  3. 3

We protect the path and lift

The crew walks the route, pads tight spots and moves the unit out on a dolly. You confirm the price before anything gets loaded.

  4. 4

    Haul, recycle, sweep

We load it, sweep up the dust bunnies that were hiding behind it and take the unit to the right recycler. You get your space back the same visit.

What moves the price

Your price comes down to the effort of getting the item out and the cost of disposing of it properly. We give you the number upfront, and no hidden fees show up later. A lone washer next to the garage door is a smaller job than a built-in fridge carried down from an upstairs kitchen.

Number and size of items
One microwave and a full laundry pair take very different truck space and labor. Several pieces in one trip usually brings the per-item cost down.
Stairs and tight access
Basements, narrow halls and second floors add time and crew. A clear, short path keeps the job simpler.
Refrigerant handling
Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners need the refrigerant recovered at an approved facility, which has its own disposal cost.
Disconnection work
Unhooking a washer is quick. Built-in units, water heaters that still hold water or anything still attached take longer.

Appliance removal questions

Does my appliance have to be unhooked before your crew shows up?

An electric unit only needs to be unplugged, and once the water valve is closed we can unhook washer hoses ourselves. Anything that runs on gas is different. A plumber or the gas utility has to close that line and seal it first, because our crew doesn't touch gas fittings. Have that step finished before pickup and the rest is on us.

What happens to my old refrigerator?

It goes to a facility that recovers the refrigerant and oils before the metal and plastic are recycled. It doesn't get dumped in a landfill with the coolant still inside.

Will getting rid of my old garage freezer really save money?

Often, yes. Older freezers and fridges tend to use far more electricity than newer models, especially in a hot garage. If yours is mostly empty, removing it means one less thing running all day.

How quickly can you come out?

That depends on how the schedule looks the day you reach us. Same-day and next-day service is available on many days, and we'll walk through the open times with you while we're on the phone.

Can you take other things at the same visit?

Yes. Plenty of people add an old mattress, a recliner or a pile of boxes. Our furniture removal and general junk removal fit right into the same trip.
